Newly appointed Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song is arriving in Kathmandu on Sunday.
Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese Chargés d'affaires Wang Xin will welcome new Chinese Ambassador Chen.
Even though Song was scheduled to arrive on December 27, it was postponed due to COVID-19.
Song is considered an expert Chinese diplomat on South Asian Affairs. He has served as the deputy director general at the Department of Asian Affairs under the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
China had nominated Song as the ambassador to Nepal one month after former Chinese Ambassador Hou Yanqi returned to Beijing wrapping up her four-year tenure.
