The Film Critics Society of Nepal (FICSON) has officially announced the winners of the prestigious 'Critics Award 2081'.
Recognizing excellence in Nepali cinema across 10 categories, the society released the results via an official statement on Monday.
The critically acclaimed film ‘Shambhala’ emerged as the big winner of the year, securing the Best Film title. Along with the top honor, the film also won Best Director for Min Bahadur Bham and Best Actress for Thinley Lhamo. Meanwhile, the versatile Dayahang Rai bagged the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance in ‘Gaun Aayeko Bato’.
According to Samipya Raj Timilsina, the President of FICSON, the formal award ceremony could not be held this year due to various national events, including recent political developments, the Gen-Z movement, and elections. "We have decided to announce the results now to honor the artists' hard work. However, the physical award distribution for both 2081 and 2082 BS will be held in a combined grand ceremony next year," Timalsina said.

Best Actress: Thinley Lhamo (Shambhala)
Best Screenplay/Writing: Sarishma Khatri & Siddhartha Pudasaini (Sano Sansar)
Best Cinematography: Alok Shukla (Aankha)
Best Editing: J. Him Lee & Alex Gurvits (Rajagunj)
Best Sound Design: Kishore Acharya (Gaun Aayeko Bato)
Special Mention (Acting): Supala Sapkota (Boksiko Ghar)
Special Mention (Art Direction): Purna Bahadurko Sarangi
