Kathmandu Metropolitan City, in collaboration with Sajha Yatayat, is going to operate night public transport from April 14, 2026.
The route runs via Lalitpur's Lagankhel, Patan Hospital, Alka, Norvic, Maternity Home, Trauma Center, Bir Hospital, Kanti Hospital, Teaching Hospital, Gangalal Heart Center to Budhanilkantha.
This is a 16-kilometer one-way route from north to south.
Similarly, the other route stretching from Thankot to Satungal, Kalanki, Kalimati, Tripureshwar, Thapathali, Maitighar Mandala, Baneshwar, Minbhawan, Tinkune to the International Airport, is 20 kilometers.
Four night electric buses will operate on these two routes.
"We are starting night-time public transport services as it is necessary to improve the existing situation of expensive travel due to the lack of public transport operations after 8 pm," said Sunita Dangol, acting mayor of the Metropolitan City.
