The court has allowed former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to be detained for two more days.
A single bench of District Court, Kathmandu, Judge Bishnu Prasad Awasthi granted permission to keep them in custody for two more days. Earlier, five days of detention were allowed.
When the application for extension was filed on Thursday, Oli and Lekhak were not produced in court. Both were questioned by the judge through video call.
Based on the report of the Gen Z Uprising, Inquiry Commission, the government arrested Oli and Lekhak on April 7. Oli is undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj due to health problems. Lekhak, on the other hand, is doing time in police custody.
The police have already recorded the statement of former Home Minister Lekhak. Police have stated that Oli's statement is yet to be recorded.
