Three students have died after two motorcycles collided head-on and caught fire on the Jaleshwor-Bardibas road section in Bathanaha, Mahottari, police said.
Three more students sustained serious injuries in the incident.
The injured are undergoing treatment at the provincial hospital in the district headquarters, Jaleshwar, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Shailendra Bhatta of the District Police Office.
The motorcycles were completely burned and even the number plates were not visible.
The three students died on the spot after the collision, the police said. The accident occurred while they were returning home after taking the SEE exam.
The condition of the two of among the three injured is critical, the police said.
