Former PM Oli undergoes gallbladder surgery

Former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has undergone a gallbladder surgery at the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj on Monday.

The surgery was completed a while ago, informed the hospital's information officer Kali Prasad Rosyara.

According to information officer Rosyara, the surgery took more than half an hour. He has been shifted from the operation theater to the ICU following the surgery.

He said that he will be kept under the supervision of doctors in the ICU for some time. He will then be shifted to the general ward after checking his health condition, he informed.

The surgery was performed by a team of doctors including Prof Dr Paleshwa Joshi Lakhe, Associate Professor Dr Bishnu Prasad Kandel and Dr Deepak Sharma under the coordination of the Head of the Nephrology Department, Prof Dr Divya Singh Shah and Prof Dr Mahesh Raj Sigdel.

Oli was arrested by the police on March 28. Then he was taken to the hospital for a health check-up. He was released after the Supreme Court ordered his release on personal recognizance.
