Nepali students planning to study abroad can now obtain their No Objection Certificate (NOC) entirely online from home.
This shift to a "faceless" service comes after the Ministry of Education’s NOC branch in Sanothimi integrated its online portal with the systems of Tribhuvan University (TU) and Kathmandu University (KU).
Following a recent agreement with TU on April 17, and a prior deal with KU, the verification process has been fully digitized. Previously, students—especially those pursuing postgraduate degrees—were required to visit the office in person to verify their academic transcripts. Now, API network integration allows the system to cross-check records automatically.
The streamlined process also links with the Citizen Information Management System (CIMS) for citizenship verification and the National Examination Board (NEB) for birth dates and high school records.
Furthermore, the NOC branch has integrated its portal with the Revenue Information Cashless Management System. This ensures that all application fees are paid online, allowing students to complete the entire process and print their certificates remotely once approved.
