Officiating Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari said today that there have been no complaints so far from political parties and candidates regarding the House of Representatives (HoR) Member election held on March 5.

He made this observation while receiving the report along with the news material related to the HoR election, 2082, prepared by the National News Agency (RSS).

The 1,128-page report contains news disseminated by RSS in Nepali, English, Maithili, Nepal Bhasa and Awadhi, along with 1,400 photographs as well as interviews and audio contents related to the election.

On the occasion, the Officiating Chief Election Commissioner viewed that the conditions such as time and weather, along with alacrity and determination, also contributed to the successful completion of the election.

Officiating CEC Bhandari said, “All programs from the registration of candidacy to the vote counting for the House of Representatives election were carried out peacefully and enthusiastically. There were no complaints of re-counting, cancellation or re-election anywhere.”

Referring to the very close cooperation between the Commission and RSS during elections, he said, “RSS is an institution that delivers reliable news in Nepal as a professional organisation.”

The Officiating CEC further said RSS played a crucial role in creating an election atmosphere and that the Commission is satisfied with RSS's performance in the context of the elections, emphasising the media also played an important role in the peaceful conduction of elections.

Chairman of RSS, Uday Rana Magar, said that the news agency fulfilled its work responsibilities according to the agreement and through coordination between the Commission and RSS. He stated that RSS played a positive role in creating an electoral environment by means of news and articles.
