CPN (UML) has decided to take action against the leaders and cadres who did not cooperate in the elections.
This decision was taken during a meeting of the Coordination/Consultation Committee, which included the chairmen of the party's provincial committees, on April 23.
"Necessary decisions will be taken against the members who did not cooperate and lent their support to other parties in the elections," reads the 8-point directive signed by General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and circulated to the subordinate committees.
Similarly, the meeting has decided to update the names of those who have died, defected to the other party, and those with dual party membership records and remove their names from the CPN (UML) membership records.
"A list of comrades, who were relieved of their provincial, district, and subordinate committee responsibilities following their candidacy in the 11th General Convention, must be compiled and sent by mid-May," reads the directive.
