CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) have reached an agreement on the post of chief minister of Province 1.
Prime Minister and Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli reached the agreement on the leadership of the province, informed Indra Bahadur Angbo, a lawmaker of the Maoist Center.
According to the agreement, the UML will lead the provincial government for the first half of the five-year term and the Maoist Center will take the helm in the second half of the term.
UML leader Hikmat Karki is being appointed as the chief minister of the province today itself. Similarly, the Maoist Center will take the post of speaker in the provincial assembly.
“UML will become chief minister in the first half and the Maoist Center will lead in the second half,” said Angbo.
UML leader Hikmat Karki is submitting a claim for the post of chief minister with Province Chief Parshuram Khapung in a while.
