Speeding car mows down 3 Nepalis in Punjab, India

Three Nepali nationals have died after being hit by a speeding car in Punjab State of India. Two others sustained injuries in the accident.

According to The Tribune, an Indian English daily, the deceased are Rohit Acharya, Dilan Thapa and Santosh Thapa. They were crushed to death by a speeding car while they were going to a wedding party palace in Bhullar Village in the Jalandhar district.

 

Similarly, the injured are Rohit Thapa and Samir Chauhan.  All of them are laborers of the wedding party palace on Bathinda Road and were below 25 years of age.

According to the news, the accident took place after the driver lost control of the car, hit the victims, rammed the wall near the road, before it rammed into a tree. The car driver, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, also sustained injuries.

The accident took place on Saturday. Punjab police are investigating the accident, the news report said.
