WorldLink Communications has issued a clarification regarding a news article published by Nepalkhabar claiming that Meta Platforms invested Rs 5 billion in the company and signed in a secret agreement.
The company stated it has not signed any agreements with Meta Platforms for data center construction in Nepal, denying reports of Rs 5 billion investment or the existence of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
"WorldLink Communications would like to clarify that the information presented in the article is not factually accurate. Specifically, there has been no Rs 5 billion investment, no non-disclosure agreement (NDA), and no MoU related to data center construction between Meta Platforms and WorldLink Communications as stated in the report," reads the clarification letter sent to Nepalkhabar by the company.
The company claimed that the report created confusion among customers, partners, stakeholders, and the general public, while also affecting WorldLink’s professional reputation and credibility.
"As a responsible media institution, we believe your organization values accurate and balanced reporting" clarification letter further stated, "Since the article appears to have been published without official confirmation from the concerned parties, it has unintentionally created confusion among customers, partners, stakeholders, and the general public, while also affecting the company's professional reputation and credibility."
Earlier on May 6, Nepalkhabar had reported that Meta was going to invest five billion rupees in Nepal in collaboration with WorldLink Communications, under the headline 'Meta invests Rs 5 billion in Nepal, signs MoU with WorldLink'.
