Nepali Congress parliamentary party leader in the National Assembly, Kamala Panta, has said that Prime Minister Balendra Shah has committed heinous violence against women under the guise of an ordinance and arithmetic.
Panta raised the issue of the Chief Justice recommendation case in the National Assembly meeting on Monday and said that Prime Minister Shah has demonstrated the arrogance of the majority over capable women.
“The honorable Prime Minister, who once appeared very sensitive about an incident related to his wife and wrote various things on social media, has today demonstrated the arrogance of the majority over another capable woman. We women are sad,” she said. “A senior female judge who has been appointed as a Justice has been attacked just because she is a woman. There is a general perception that this is heinous violence against women under the guise of an ordinance and arithmetic.”
Panta alleges that the incumbent government, which came to power with the slogan of change as an alternative to the previous government, has shown its true color by surpassing the old manipulations in the working procedures of the Constitutional Council than its previous government.
She said that Prime Minister Shah has made his intentions clear by attacking the dignity, respect and trust-filled continuity of the Supreme Court.
