Health Minister Mehta and her Bhutanese counterpart hold meeting

Minister for Health and Food Hygiene, Nisha Mehta, and Bhutan's Health Minister, Tandin Wangchuk, held a meeting in Geneva of Switzerland.

During the meeting held at the 79th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva on Tuesday, they stressed the need of mutual collaboration to resolve the health challenges as both countries have been facing similar common health challenges, said Joint-Spokesperson at the Health Ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari.

On the occasion, they also discussed the matter of strengthening flexible, inclusive and people-oriented health service system in the health sector.

An understanding was also reached between them on the issue of collaborating to further strengthen the health system of both countries, added Dr Adhikari.

Earlier, Health Minister Mehta held bilateral meetings with her Indian and Chinese counterparts on the sidelines of the Assembly.
