Rabi Lamichhane, the President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Member of Parliament, is leaving for a five-day official visit to India today. The visit, spanning from June 1 to June 5, comes at the formal invitation of Nitin Nabin, the President of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
During his stay in New Delhi, President Lamichhane is scheduled to hold a series of high-level political and diplomatic meetings. The itinerary features crucial meetings with top BJP leadership aimed at strengthening inter-party relations and discussing bilateral issues of mutual interest. Beyond the political engagements in the capital, Lamichhane will interact with the Nepali diaspora and party well-wishers living in India, and will also make a personal pilgrimage to the historic city of Ayodhya.
"This visit marks a significant step in fostering closer ties between the emerging political forces of Nepal and India. We look forward to fruitful discussions on mutual cooperation, diplomatic engagement, and addressing the matters of the Nepali community residing in India," an official involved in the visit's coordination stated.
A select delegation is accompanying the Party President to facilitate these high-level talks. The official team includes RSP Joint General Secretary and Member of Parliament Bipin Acharya, Secretariat Member and Member of Parliament Deepak Bohora, Pradip Acharya and Lamichhane's spouse Nikita Poudel.
The Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi is currently working in close coordination with Indian authorities to facilitate the delegation's high-profile engagements and ensure a seamless diplomatic exchange, according to a press note issued by RSP.
