Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has left for India on an official visit at the invitation of his Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar.
Khanal left for New Delhi from Tribhuvan International Airport on this afternoon.
Talking briefly to media persons at the airport before leaving for India, Foreign Minister Khanal said that this is the first high-level visit following the formation of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)-led government.
Minister Khanal said that this visit is part of the regular high-level visit exchange between Nepal and India. He believed that this visit will be fruitful in further strengthening the historical and multifaceted bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during his India visit, Khanal will meet his Indian counterpart Dr S Jaishankar. The foreign ministers of both countries will discuss various issues of mutual interest and bilateral relations, it is leart.
Foreign Minister Khanal is scheduled to return to Kathmandu on June 7.
