A Buddha Air plane bound for Biratnagar has been diverted to Kathmandu after a problem was detected in its landing gear.
A problem was detected in Buddha Air flight number 707, which took off from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) to Biratnagar at around 1 pm on Thursday.
"The pilot diverted the aircraft to Kathmandu after noticing a problem with its landing gear shortly after takeoff. A detailed report will be received shortly," TIA spokesperson Sanjaya Kumar told Nepalkhabar.
"After a technical glitch was detected on the plane during the flight, the plane was safely landed at Tribhuvan International Airport, taking necessary safety precautions," said Buddha Air Information Officer Dipendra Karna.
Karna said that the passengers were taken to Biratnagar on another aircraft immediately after the plane was diverted.
He further said that a technical team is currently conducting further examination of the plane to determine the cause of the problem.
