Top leaders of ruling coalition.

The ruling coalition led by CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli has called a meeting today (Thursday).

The meeting will take place at the prime minister's official residence in Baluwatar at 3 pm.

The top leaders of the coalition will discuss the expansion of the Council of Ministers, the election of the Speaker, and the effectiveness of the current government, among others in the meeting, Baluwatar sources have said.

Earlier on Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' held a meeting with Oli in Balkot. The meeting between Prachanda and Oli, which lasted for about an hour, focused on cabinet expansion among other issues, a source close to Oli said.

Prime Minister Prachanda is making preparations to expand the cabinet after taking the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives – the lower house of parliament – on Wednesday.

Partners in the coalition are yet to reach a decision on the distribution of the ministerial portfolios.
