Rabi Lamichhane elected RSP President unopposed

Rabi Lamichhane has been elected as the president of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

The Central Election Commission has declared him elected unopposed after no other candidates filed their nominations for the post of president.

Now, elections will be held for 99 central members.

Senior leader Balendra Shah (Balen) had proposed Rabi as the candidate for the post.

According to the RSP statute, the candidates vying for the posts of president and senior leader do not have get elected as the central committee members.

The first phase of voting is scheduled for Wednesday morning. The party president and central members will be elected in the first phase. The office-bearers will be elected in the second phase.

The first phase of counting of votes and its results will be announced two hours after the end of voting, informed Bhuwan KC, head of the election commission.
