Four ministers in the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’-led cabinet are set to get the ministerial portfolios.
Three ministers from the CPN (UML) and one from the Janamat Party, who were appointed as the ministers in the cabinet on December 26, have no portfolios.
A meeting of the ruling coalition scheduled for today will assign them with portfolios, said a minister.
“A ruling coalition meeting called for today will assign ministerial portfolios to four ministers today,” said he, “Prime Minister Dahal and UML Chairman Oli reached an agreement in the meeting yesterday."
Currently, there are eight members in the cabinet. It can be expanded up to 25 members including three state ministers as per the constitution of Nepal.
Ministers Jwala Kumari Sah, who had been elected as a lawmaker from Bara-3, Damodar Bhandari from Baitadi and Rajendra Kumar Rai from Dhankuta representing UML, are without portfolios.
Similarly, the portfolio of minister Abdul Khan from Janamat Party led by Dr Chandra Kanta (CK) Raut, is without portfolio.
