The Nepal government has expressed its condolences over the huge loss of life and property caused by the powerful earthquake that struck the capital of Venezuela, Caracas. The powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 magnitudes struck at around 4 am on Thursday morning, Nepali time.
Nepal has expressed its condolences as international media outlets continue to report that many people have been feared killed and infrastructure has been destroyed in the earthquake. The death toll and damage caused by the earthquake have not yet been reported.
Nepal has prayed for the speedy rescue of the missing and the recovery of the injured, saying, "The Government of Nepal is deeply saddened by the news of tragic loss of lives and property caused by powerful earthquakes that struck the capital Caracas of Venezuela. We extend sincere condolences to the bereaved families and express our sympathies to the Government and people," a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
