Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song presented his letters of credence to President Bidya Bhandari at Sheetal Niwas on Friday.

Ambassador Song arrived in Kathmandu on January 8 to discharge his duties as new ambassador to Nepal.

He is considered an expert on South Asian Affairs. Earlier, he had served as the Deputy Director for the Department of Asian Affairs under the Foreign Ministry of China.

China had appointed Song as its new the ambassador to the himalayan country one month after Hou Yanqi returned to Beijing in October, wrapping up her four-year tenure in Nepal.
