In what we call a mysterious incident, vehicles belonging to unknown individuals have been parked at the gates of three media houses since early morning today.
A car with the registration number, Ba Pra-01-034 Cha 8480, has been parked at Kantipur Publications in Tinkune, another car with the registration number Ba 12 Cha 8545 has been found at the gate of Onlinekhabar in Buddhanagar and another car, Ba 12 Cha 1255 was found to have been parked at the gate of Himalaya TV in Mid-Baneshwar.
In response to the incident, the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has criticized the incident terming it "mysterious and deplorable" and demanded that the concerned authority remove the vehicle at the earliest.
Issuing a press note this morning the FNJ said, "We strongly urge the concerned authority to remove the vehicles at the earliest and restore the fundamental rights of mass media and journalists. The incident is mysterious and deplorable. It should be investigated thoroughly and brought the miscreant to book without delay."
When inquired about the incident, SP Pawan Bhattarai, the spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said, "We have sent a crane to remove the parked vehicles and are investigating who parked them and for what reason."

The vehicles have been parked at the gates of Onlinekhabar, Kantipur Publications and Himalaya TV since 7 am today.
This incident has taken at a time when the government has been under fire over the death of sharing-rider Ganesh Nepali who committed suicide by setting himself on fire at Tripureshwar. Nepali, who hails from Mugu, poured petrol and set a fire to his body following the dispute with a metropolitan police official on Saturday. Critically injured Nepali succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital on Sunday.
Sanima Bank holds the registration for the car Ba Pra-01-034 Cha 8480, while cars Ba 12 Cha 8545 and Ba 12 Cha 1255 are registered under Sunil Paudel and Subash Bhandari, respectively.
Police said they are investigating the incident why they parked the vehicles outside the media outlets.
