CPN (UML) and Nepali Communist Party have reached a three-point agreement regarding the formation of provincial governments and legislative cooperation.

According to the agreement, CPN (UML) will lead the provincial governments in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, while NCP will lead the governments in Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. The third point of the agreement states that the leadership and participation model for Madhesh and Gandaki provincial governments will be finalized through consultations with other political parties represented in their respective provincial assemblies.

The agreement was signed on Saturday by CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli and NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', in the presence of UML Vice-Chair Bishnu Paudel and CPN leader Barsha Man Pun.

Both parties stated that the agreement aims to address challenges such as misunderstandings in budget formulation, the absence of budgetary provisions, and unhealthy political competition within the provincial assemblies.

Highlighting their shared objectives, leaders noted that the understanding was forged to resolve these current issues and accelerate political stability, good governance, prosperity, and regional development in alignment with public expectations.
