CPN (Maoist Center) Deputy General Secretary Barsha Man Pun has been airlifted to Kathmandu from Rolpa after he complained of health problem.

Pun has been hospitalized at Sumeru City Hospital based at Dhapakhel in Lalitpur, sources have said.

"Pun, who had gone to attend a program organized in Rolpa, his home district, was airlifted to Kathmandu," a source close to Pun told Nepalkhabar.

He is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

On December 2, he had flown to China at the advice of Nepali doctors for a follow-up checkup for hereditary hyper-bilirubinemia, a kind of jaundice.

He had returned from China on December 20 after receiving treatment at Shenzhen-based Thirds People's Hospital in China.

Pun had health issues such as insomnia, skin itching, coughing, lack of appetite, and vomiting. These problems have been resolved following the treatment.

Pun's bilirubin level was at 27 before he went to China for treatment, now it has gone down to 18. The disease diagnosed with Pun is called Crigler-Najjar syndrome type 2, medically.

He had been taken to Thailand and then to China after his health problem got worse.

Doctors have suggested adequate rest for Pun to keep his bilirubin level under control.
