All-party meeting underway at Baluwatar

An all-party meeting is taking place at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar following the swearing-in of the newly elected ministers.

Prime Minister Prachanda has called a meeting of the ruling coalition as part of preparation for the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday.

CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane are participating in the meeting.

Also participating in the meeting are Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka and senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel.

Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is participating in the meeting from CPN (Unified Socialist) and Dr Baburam Bhattarai is attending the meeting from Nepal Samajbadi Party.

Likewise, Nagarik Unmukti Party Chairman and lawmaker Ranjita Shrestha is also taking part in the meeting.

The meeting will dwell on the election of the speaker and is expected to reach an agreement on it. Earlier, Prime Minister Dahal had said that the speaker could be given to the NC.

 However, the meeting of the ruling coalition held on Monday had agreed to give both president and speaker to the UML.
