Today is Shree Panchami. Saraswati, the goddess of learning, is being worshiped and celebrated with devotion and worship across the county today.
Being the goddess of learning and creation, especially writers, artists, journalists, teachers and students worship their art-tools, pens, copies and instruments among others.
The temples of Swayambhu, Maitidevi and Neelasaraswati in Gairidhara, Lele in Lalitpur and other districts like Saraswati temples in the Kathmandu Valley are thronged by devotees, especially students, to offer prayers from early this morning.
Today Saraswati Puja is also performed at the school level.
