Lamichhane meets PM Dahal, reclaims DPM, HM

Rabi Lamichhane, who took charge of the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) after regaining a Nepali citizenship on Sunday, has reclaimed the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

According to sources, Lamichhane who reached Baluwatar this evening asked Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to entrust him with the same responsibilities he had before.

In the meeting, he informed Prime Minister Dahal that he resolved the issue of citizenship and assured him of settling the case of the passport at the earliest.

"Lamichhane asked Prime Minister Dahal to assign him with the responsibility of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister," a source close to the Prime Minister told Nepalkhabar, "Give me the same responsibilities I had before now, and I will come back as a lawmaker again by winning the by-election within six months."

In response, Prime Minister said he will take a decision on it in consultation with the ruling coalition partners.

"I will talk with the ruling coalition partners about it, consult the Election Commission and legal experts," said Prime Minister Dahal, "We should take such a decision so that no legal hassles will come tomorrow."

Rabi lost MP, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister as well as Party Chairman when the Supreme Court gave an order on Friday in the case of using the scrapped citizenship.

After regaining citizenship on Sunday, he has already has taken charge of the party chairman on the same day.

Now he is planning to become a minister for six months as a non-MP and then come again after winning the by-election from Chitwan-2.
