The Rastriya Sawatantra Party (RSP) has called central committee (CC) and parliamentary party (PP) meetings today.

The both CC and PP meetings will take a decision on whether to pull out of the government or continue staying in it.

RSP General Secretary Dr. Mukul Dhakal, who is also the spokesperson, said the CC and PP meetings have been called at the central party office in Basundhara at 3 pm. "The meetings will come up with a concrete decision on whether to pull out of the government or continue staying in it," said Dhakal.

Supreme Court on January 27 had stripped him of the Member of Parliament (MP) on the ground of not having a valid citizenship.

With the scrapping of his MP, Lamichhane lost all his constitutional posts including Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, chairman of the party and the parliamentary party (PP) leader.

Lamichhane regained his citizenship certificate on January 29 after he submitted a proof of renouncing his American citizenship to the district administration office (DAO).

With the regaining of the citizenship, Lamichhane has been demanding that he be reappointed as the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.

However, there has been pressure on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' from within the party not to repeat him as the Home Minister until the full text comes from the Supreme Court and his dual passport case is settled.

Smelling a rat on not reappointing him as the Home Minister, Lamichhane on January 31 met with Prime Minister Dahal and warned that the RSP would pull out of the government if he were not reappointed at the earliest.
