Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a meeting at the central party office in Basundhara.
Both the central committee and parliamentary party meetings, which kicked off at 5 pm, are underway simultaneously, said Dr. Mukul Dhakal, the General Secretary of the RSP.
According to Dhakal, who is also the spokesperson of the party, the joint meeting will come up with a final call on whether to pull out of the Prachanda-led government or continue staying in it.
RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane had lost the post of Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister after the Supreme Court stripped him of Member of Parliament on the ground of not having a valid citizenship last Friday.
As a non-parliamentary lawmaker, Lamichhane has been reclaiming the post of Home Minister. The RSP has warned that it will quit the government if Lamichhane were not reappointed as the Home Minister.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been reiterating that he will keep the Home Ministry himself until the full text comes from the Supreme Court.
