Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) led by Rabi Lamichhane has decided to take two more days to take a decision regarding its stay in the government.

A joint meeting of central committee and parliamentary party held at the central party office in Basundhara took a decision to this effect, said Dr. Mukul Dhakal, the General Secretary of the RSP.

“We have decided to take two more days to reckon if we are continuing our support to the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ after he denied to reappoint our Chairman Lamichhane as the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister breaching the deal sealed in the coalition,” said Dhakal.

RSP President Rabi Lamichhane had lost the post of Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister after the Supreme Court stripped him of Member of Parliament on the ground of not having a valid citizenship last Friday.

As a non-parliamentary lawmaker, Lamichhane reclaimed the post of Home Minister, warning that he would quit the government if he were not reappointed as the Home Minister.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been reiterating that he will keep the Home Ministry himself until the full text comes from the Supreme Court.
