Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP) lawmaker Arun Kumar Chaudhary has been sent to jail.
Lawmaker Chaudhary, who was arrested in Banke yesterday, was brought to Kathmandu before being taken to Kailali via Dhangadhi.
He has now been kept in the prison of the Kailali district
Elected as a lawmaker from Kailali 2, the District Court, Kailali had slapped Chaudhary with a six months’ imprisonment on the charge of burning a tractor.
H was elected in the November 20 elections, without serving the jail term, according to the court.
On April 22, 2013, District Court, Kailali had sentenced three people including Chaudhary to six months in jail along with a fine of Rs 818,423 each.
On August 19, 2009, Mahadev Bajgain from Balia village had filed a case in the District Court Kailali with the allegation of burning a private tractor, Lu 2 and 211.
A single bench of District Court Judge Bishnu Subedi issued an order sentencing the trio for six months in jail along with the fine mentioned above.
