A high-level meeting between a Nepali officials led by Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Dol Prasad Aryal and the delegation led by Home Minister of Malaysia Saifuddin Nasution Ismail is underway at Hotel Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
The meeting, which kicked off at 10 am, is holding discussions on the Foreign Worker Employment Relaxation Plan that includes welfare of migrant workers and their safety, said Joint Secretary Danduraj Ghimire, the spokesperson at the Labor Ministry.
The meeting will also discuss the training of the Nepali workers here in Nepal before being taken to Malaysia.
Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday evening, leading a 15-member delegation.
The Malaysian government has adopted a policy to recruit 500,000 migrant workers from around the globe including Nepal and Bangladesh.
A high level delegation has arrived on a three-day official visit to Kathmandu from Malaysia, after the Malaysia government adopted this policy.
Home Minister of Malaysia is also scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' today.
Home Minister Saifuddin is scheduled to return home on Saturday.
