Urmila Aryal, a member of the Standing Committee of CPN (Maoist Center), is running for the vacant post of vice-chair of the National Assembly (NA).

Aryal is likely to be elected unopposed after the Nepali Congress decided to not field a candidate for the post of NA vice chair.

Talking to Nepalkhabar, Aryal said that the Maoist Center has decided to appoint her as the vice chairperson of the National Assembly.

“The parliamentary party meeting of our party is being held at 12:30 pm. The nomination will be registered by 2:30 pm," he said.

She had won the National Assembly elections for women through Madhesh Province held on January 26 last year.
