CPN (Maoist Center) leader Urmila Aryal has registered her candidacy for the post of vice chairperson of the National Assembly (NA).

Fielded as a common candidate by the ruling coalition, Narayan Kaji Shrestha proposed Aryal as a candidate for the post while her candidacy was seconded by Devendra Dahal and Khim Lal Devkota.

The final list of candidates will be published at 4:15 pm.  The election for the vice chairman will begin at 12 noon tomorrow (February 6).

Aryal is sure to become the NA vice chairperson unopposed after the main opposition Nepali Congress decided to not field its candidate in the elections.

She had won the National Assembly elections for women through Madhesh Province held on January 26 last year.
