Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Bimala Rai Paudyal held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on Wednesday afternoon.
Foreign Minister Paudyal extended heartfelt condolences, on behalf of the people and Government of Nepal, to the friendly people and Government of Türkiye on the loss of precious lives and properties due to the devastating earthquake that occurred on February 6.
As a country affected by massive earthquakes in the recent past, Nepal understands the pains caused by such devastation, she said.
The Foreign Minister conveyed to her Turkish counterpart that Nepal stands in solidarity with the people of Türkiye and is preparing to offer support in terms of medicines and medical team as a gesture of solidarity in Türkiye’s relief and recovery efforts, reads a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here today.
