Nepal's Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari held a meeting with Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) at the latter's office in Islamabad, on Thursday.
During the meeting, the envoy shed light on various aspects of age-old Nepal-Pakistan relations.
"The two countries enjoy excellent bilateral relationship which is based on friendship, mutual trust and cooperation. We are also fellow members of the regional organization SAARC and have cultural and social commonalities. It is an opportune time to further enhance economic cooperation and interactions in the days to come," Adhikari told the Pakistani authorities.

The ambassador also stressed the need to maximize the economic opportunities whatever available with them for the benefits of people.
While briefing the policies of the Nepal government to attract foreign direct investment, Adhikari shared about opportunities for making foreign investment in Nepal. "I would like to request you to visit Nepal and explore business and investment opportunities," he said.
Ambassador Adhikari said that FPCCI could play an effective role to promote interactions between entrepreneurs of the two friendly nations.
Talking about Nepal's tourism potential, Ambassador Adhikari said that Nepal offers an excellent hospitality in South Asia.
"Our country has remained a hub of adventure tourism. I urge you all to make a trip along with your friends for formal and informal interactions in Nepal. I am pretty sure you would be really fascinated by Nepali food, culture and adventure tourism," he said.
Welcoming the Nepali ambassador, Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, president of the FPCCI said that he was happy to get the briefing on business, investment and tourism opportunities in Nepal. He vowed to work towards further enhancing business ties between Pakistan and Nepal.
The FPCCI president also said that the Pakistani business community is keen to explore business opportunities in Nepal. "We are also interested to help Nepal's embassy in Pakistan to promote economic ties between the two countries," he told the visiting ambassador.
The FPCCI is an umbrella organization of chambers of commerce and industry in Pakistan. Established in 1950, FPCCI has been playing an active role in identifying problems related to trade, industry and environment as well as safeguarding the interests of the private sector in Pakistan. The organization has its branch offices in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Karachi.
