Supreme Court will hear the writ petition filed by cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane tomorrow (Friday) seeking permission to go to UAE to play cricket tournament.
Advocate Saroj Krishna filed the writ at the apex court on behalf of Lamichhane on Thursday challenging the High Court Patan’s decision to bar him from going abroad.
If the Supreme Court's verdict comes in favor of Lamichhane on Friday, he can join the Nepali cricket team to the UAE.
Meanwhile, Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has announced the team of players excluding Lamichhane to go to UAE for cricket tournament.
In the team are Rohit Kumar Paudel, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Gyanendra Malla, Kushal Malla, Deependra Singh Airee, Sandeep Jora, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, Bhim Sarki, Arif Sheikh, Pratish GC and Shyam Dhakal.
High Court Patan on January 12 had put a ban on Lamichhane from going abroad while releasing him on a bail.
According to the decision, Lamichhane has to take permission even while going out of the Kathmandu Valley.
With an excellent comeback with wins in all four matches thanks to 13 wickets by Lamichhane in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, the CAN has initiated the process forward to take him to UAE.
