The government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has fallen into minority after 64 days.
Prachanda was appointed as Prime Minister on December 25 last year. With CPN (UML) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) withdrawing their support to the government, the government has now been in minority.
UML decided to withdraw its support to the government today, saying that Prime Minister Prachanda insulted Foreign Minister Dr. Bimala Rai Paudyal by intercepting her while she was about to leave for Geneva on Sunday to attend a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
UML has 78 members of parliament (MPs) in the House of Representatives.
On Sunday, the RPP withdrew its support to the government after it decided to pull out of the government.
On December 25, Prachanda had become the Prime Minister with the support of 169 MPs from seven parties including three independent lawmakers.
