Nepal have defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by four wickets in a match of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 at the Dubai International Stadium on Monday.
Chasing the 204-run target set by PNG, Nepal reached the target in 45.3 overs losing six wickets.
Kushal Bhurtel topped the score with 56 runs including five fours off 69 balls. Similarly, Aasif Sheikh collected 44 runs including five fours off 39 balls while Aarif Sheikh contributed 33 runs.
In reply, Assad Vala took three wickets while Norman Vanua and Sese Bau claimed one wicket each for PNG.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, PNG notched up 203 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Captain Assad Vala and Chad Soper made equal 36 runs while Sese Bau collected 31 runs. Similarly Kiplin Doriga contributed 29 runs.
In reply, Gulsan Jha, Kushal Malla took three and two wickets for Nepal.
