The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has taken the process forward to send cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane to UAE.
Acting Secretary of CAN Durga Raj Pathak said a process has been initiated to send Lamichhane to play ODI series under the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
With the Supreme Court verdict on Monday permitting Lamichhane to go abroad, the Nepal’s cricket governing body initiated the process to replace the player.
The CAN yesterday sent a letter to the ICC seeking permission to send Lamichhane to play ODI series in UAE. The series involving Nepal, Papua New Guinea and UAE started at Dubai International Stadium since Monday.
If the ICC permits, Lamichhane will go to UAE, said Secretary Pathak.
However, the CAN has to withdraw one player before sending Lamichhane to the UAE.
Lamichhane has been given the permission on the condition that he will report to the court within 15 days of his return from the foreign land.
