Nepal have clinched a 10-wicket win against Malaysia in the fourth cricket match of the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier held at the Malek Cricket Ground 2, Ajman, UAE on Tuesday.
Chasing the paltry 73-run target set by Malaysia, Nepal reached it in nine overs losing no wickets.
Opener Dipak Bohara topped the score with 38 runs including eight fours off 29 deliveries while Arjun Kumar hit 21 runs.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Malaysia were bowled for 72 runs in 35.3 overs.
Muhammad Akram Malek topped the score with 26 runs while Muhammad Syahir contributed 12 runs while the other batsmen could not score double-digit runs.
To restrict the opponent to 72 runs, Nepal’s Dipesh Kandel took four wickets including four maidens conceding 11 runs. Similarly, Akash Chand took three wickets while Milan Bohara grabbed three wickets.
Unbeaten in the Asia Qualifiers, Nepal will play UAE on Thursday.
If Nepal win Thursday’s match, they will climb atop the points table paving the way for the ICC U-19 World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka next year.
