Nepal have defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by three wickets in the tri-series of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 on Friday.
Chasing the 180-run target set by PNG, Nepal reached it in 48 overs losing seven wickets.
Aasif Sheikh topped the score with 86 runs including two fours and one six off 130 deliveries and remained not out. Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane made 35 runs including three fours off 50 deliveries while Kushal Malla contributed 23 runs.
In reply, Assad Vala took the highest three wickets while Semo Kamea and Sese Bau grabbed two wickets each for PNG.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, PNG notched up 179 runs in 49.2 overs losing all wickets in the match held at Dubai International Stadium.
Tony Ura topped the score with 39 runs including two fours and one six off 51 deliveries. Similarly, Hiri Hiri made 31 runs while Kiplin Doriga contributed 26 runs.
In reply, Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee took two wickets each while Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane and Kushal Malla claimed one wicket each.
Nepal defeated PNG by four wickets in the match on Monday and lost to home team UAE by 68 runs in the second match yesterday.
