Former Prime Minister and Nepal Samajbadi Party Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has said (that) filing a writ petition against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ over the Maoist insurgency-era case is nothing but a ploy to push Nepal into conflict again.

Taking the case related to the Maoist insurgency-era to the Supreme Court which is being looked after by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC), currently, is not only to derail the peace process but also to create instability and make the country a playground for foreign powers, Bhattarai stated.

Speaking at a program organized on the occasion of 113th International Labor Women’s Day in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Bhattarai stated that regressive forces foiled the ordinance issued during his premiership to conclude the peace process by filing a case in the apex court and now a writ has been filed against Prime Minister Prachanda in a similar style.

Filing a Maoist insurgency era-related petition in the Supreme Court is to foil the remaining works of peace process, said Bhattarai, arguing that it is the not the job of the Supreme Court to conclude the peace process.

Meanwhile, he appealed to one and all to stand united for safeguarding the Constitution and the peace process.
