In amazing manner, Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League with a decisive victory over Fulham 3-nil.
After a stunning attacking performance, Mikel Arteta's team replied to Manchester City's tight victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday night by clinching this victory by halftime.
When defender Gabriel headed in Leandro Trossard's corner after 21 minutes, Gabriel Martinelli had already had a goal narrowly disallowed for offside by the Video Assistance Referee (VAR). This was the first of three assists for the Belgian.
Five minutes later, Trossard crossed for Martinelli to beat the unmoving Antonee Robinson and head in at the far post. Later, in first-half stoppage time, Trossard also provided the assist for captain Martin Odegaard's composed finish.
Following the break, Fulham made a late threat, but visiting goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale stopped Bobby de Cordova-Reid and Tosin Adarabioyo's header hit the post.
However, Arsenal maintained control throughout the game, and Arteta was able to make a 13-minute cameo appearance for important striker Gabriel Jesus, who had to undergo knee surgery after suffering an injury while playing for Brazil against Cameroon at the World Cup.
