The Immigration Department has started surveillance on Amritpal Singh, who is campaigning for ‘Khalistan’, demanding a separate state in India.
Jhalakram Adhikari, Director General said the Department has put him on the watch list.

Since he can travel using a fake passport, the embassy has also provided his photograph to the Department.
Amritpali has been accused of inciting a killing industry, creating unrest and obstructing law enforcement in India.
As the Indian police searched but could not find him, it is suspected that he may have come to a neighboring country, especially Nepal.
A search operation was launched in Delhi and Punjab on Friday.
After not being found there, an alert has been issued in other provinces.

Singh's group had been protesting for a separate Sikh state of Khalistan for some time.
The Punjab Police issued warrants against Khalistani Commander Singh along with five other supporters.

Amritpal, who was seen in Lakhimpur Khiri in Uttar Pradesh on March 23, has not been found by the police since then.
