Co-driver killed, 12 injured in Gulmi bus accident

An assistant driver died and 12 others sustained injuries in a bus accident in Ruru Kshetra in Gulmi district on Thursday evening.

According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, a passenger bus, Lu 1 Kha 8175, heading to Tamghas of Gulmi from Pokhara met with an accident at Rurukshetra Rural Municipality-1, Makwadi, along the Ridi-Tamghas road section, informed SP Rajan Bhujel.

"The deceased has been identified as co-driver 40-year-old Yubaraj Kunwar," SP Bhujel told Nepalkhabar, "Twelve including the driver have been injured. The condition of 28-year-old driver Manoj Basyal of Gulmi is said to be critical." Five injured have been discharged on Friday morning. The others are undergoing treatment at Palpa District Hospital.

A total of 13 people were traveling on the bus. The bus had fallen some 60 meters down the road.
