A Dalit woman was burnt to death after being raped at Pachpadara in Barmer district of Rajasthan.
The woman named Jhamma Devi, who reached the government hospital in Jodhpur with 60 percent burns, died on Friday night in course of treatment.
The body of the deceased woman has been kept in the mortuary of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur.
Relatives of the women staging a sit-in at the Balotra Sub-Divisional Judicial Officer's office in Barmer.
Efforts are being made to negotiate between the government and the kin of the deceased woman.
According to Padmaram, the elder brother of Raju Ram, the deceased woman's husband, the talks have not been successful. Earlier, relatives protested outside the mortuary.
The incident took place on April 6.
According to the husband of the deceased, Raju Ram, a person named Shakur Khan forced his way into the house and raped her when no one was at home. He said that she was killed by spraying c after the rape. (With inputs from Agencies)
