Madan Rai of Khotang, who introduced himself as an agriculturist, has been arrested.
Septuagenarian Rai was arrested by the police on Friday on the charge of sexually abusing children kept at Shubhadra Madan ( (Shubham)) Foundation established by himself came to light.
DSP Manjil Mukarung of District Police Office Khotang said that Madan Rai was arrested from the 'Shubhadra Madan Foundation' run by him, on Friday afternoon.
Rai is now kept in the custody of District Police Office Khotang. As soon as the incident inside the Shubham Foundation became public, the police arrested him and took him into custody.
On Thursday, Setopati Online published a story with a video of Madan sexually abusing school girls staying at the foundation's hostel.
It has been revealed that Madan, the patron of the foundation, was touching the private parts of the children who were kept for teaching, inciting them for physical contact, making them touch their private parts, naked and doing objectionable acts in front of the students.
The foundation is being run at Janajagriti High School in Diktel, Khotang district headquarters.
Madan started the foundation nine years ago with the permission of the school.
