Upendra Yadav has been elected as the parliamentary party (PP) leader of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP).
A JSP PP meeting held on Monday elected Yadav as the PP leader unopposed.
The post of JSP PP leader was lying vacant, after Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav won the vice presidential election on March 17.
In the November 20 elections last year, Yadav had lost the elections to CK Raut in Saptari-2, the chairman of Janamat Party.
After Yadav's defeat, Ram Sahaya Prasad, who was elected from Bara 2, became the PP leader of the party.
Upendra Yadav won the by-election in Bara constituency-2 on April 23.
Even now, the Ministry of Forest and Environment, which is allocated for JSP by ruling coalition, is vacant.
Ashok Rai is the Education Minister from JSP.
JSP has not yet been able to send a minister to the vacant ministry in the government.
